Officer's gilt and enamel cap badge with 2 loops to reverse. Raised in December 1940 and disbanded in August 1945. Landed on D Day plus one (7th June) as part of the support for the 50th Northumberland Division. Equipped with Sherman tanks. Saw some hard fighting in North West Europe until heavy casualties caused them to disband. Most men transferred to the 23rd Hussars or other units of the 8th Armoured Brigade.
