29th Division WWI
Enamel sew-on arm badge. Won their nickname 'The Incomparable 29th' on the bloody beaches of Gallipoli. Six VCs were won before breakfast by the 1st Lancs. Fusiliers. The landing of the Hampshires, Munsters and Dublins from the SS River Clyde to almost certain death. Fought the Gallipoli campaign then withdrew to Egypt. Went to Western Front March 1916 and fought out the war. Formed from regular soldiers. This 'Battle Badge' was sewn on the 29th Division red triangular cloth and worn unofficially with pride. Displayed on felt as worn (not original felt)
