Lawrence School Sanawar K/C

Bi-metal cap badge with slide to reverse. Founded in 1847 by Sir Henry Lawrence for the education of orphans of British soldiers. In 1853 the school was presented with the King's colours, one of only six schools and colleges ever to be so honoured in the British Empire. The boys were trained to such a high standard that during WWI several contingents of boys were enlisted and sent straight to the battlefields. This is a scarce version, not the one in Cox's book
