First Aid Nursing Yeomanry

Scarce bronze cap badge with 2 loops to reverse. Formed in 1907 as a corps of horsewomen. Trained in mobile service. Became mechanized in 1914. During WWI served in France and Flanders with the British and Allied Forces. First women's service to be mechanized and staffed. Had its own self contained motor ambulance units. Circlet inscribed 'First Aid Nursing Yeomanry' with cross moline to centre. Ref K&K Vol1 1064
