12th Australian Light Horse

White metal cap badge with 2 loops to reverse. Raised in 1915 in New South Wales. Saw service in Gallipoli, Sinai and Palestine seeing action in the battles for Berrsheba, Jerusalem, Megiddo and the capture of Jerusalem. Used to suppress the Egyptian uprising before being disbanded in 1919. The badge being cast was probably made in the Middle East
