1st Polish Armoured Division

Woven cloth formation sign. Raised in Scotland in 1942 formation formed part of 21st Army Group taking part in the invasion of Europe, landing in Normandy and seeing hard fighting in the Falaise Gap. The badge derives from the Polish cavalry helmet. Ref Cole p163
