Cumberland Rifle Volunteers 5th Corps
White metal collar badge with 2 loops to reverse. Known as the Inglewood Rifles and formed in Penrith in 1860. After much research I have put this down to them as a collar badge, and a very rare one at that. Military Historical Society Bulletin no.234 Nov 2008 has an article on them with a photo. They are wearing a Shako with a strung bugle as a badge. At that period no collar but I think that is what it is. Scroll states 'Inglewood Rifles 1860'
