Officer's silver headdress badge with 2 loops to reverse. Engraved details to back are of George Smith, commissioned Ensign on the 28th December 1860. He became Lieutenant on 22nd July 1861, Captain on 31st May 1864, Senior Officer Commanding by 1872, was still in December 1873, but not listed by October 1875. Engraved to F.I. April 1861, maybe one of the Wiltshire Ivye family, possibly his fiance
