31st Division WWI
Scarce brass and enamel battle badge with pin fixing to reverse. Division of Yorkshire and Lancashire troops. Badge contains the 2 roses representing the Houses of York and Lancaster and was adopted 1917. Served in Egypt 1915-16 and then on the Western Front until the end of the war. Worn with pride below the battalion patch on the right arm. Made up from Pals and City battalions. Reinforced with brigade of dismounted Yeomen in the closing months of the war.
