Polish 10th Dragoons WWII
Woven cloth mint formation sign. Fought in the defence of Poland as part of the 10th Cavalry Brigade. Were interned in Hungary, but never defeated in open combat. Dubbed by the Germans as the 'Black Brigade' because of their black leather jackets. Most of them managed to reach France after the fall of Poland and joined General Sikorski's Army. Fought in France in 1940. Renamed the 10th Armoured Cavalry Brigade and evacuated to Britain during the fall of France. The Black Brigade formed the core of the 1st Polish Armoured Division in 1942
