British German Legion 1855-57

Crimean War officer's gilt pouch belt plate. A gilt (not much remaining) BGL cypher with 2 bolts, nuts and washers to reverse. Bolts bent and slightly different colour but original. National Army photograph dated 25th August 1855 no.1182/1 shows Major Fredrick von Jess of the 2nd Jager Corps wearing this pattern of pouch plate. A rare thing
