Arab Legion
Officer's headdress with cast silver badge. Originally formed in 1921 as an internal police force by Lt. Col. Frederick Peake in Transjordan, a British protectorate, the legion's job being to keep order among the territory's various Arab tribes. In 1939 command was taken over by John Bagot Glubb known as Glubb Pasha to his men (general). By 1945 at its peak had 16000 men. Head not included
