1st Canadian Parachute Battalion

Very scarce officer's silver gilt cap badge with 2 loops to reverse. Issued 1943. Assigned to the 3rd British Parachute Brigade (6th Airborne Division). On 6th June 1944 jumped into Normandy between the rivers Orne and Dives. Fought in the Battle of the Bulge in Operation Varsity (The Rhine Crossing). In May 1945 linked with Russians at Wismar in the Baltic Sea. Disbanded on 30 September 1946. Superb quality British made badge with loops (not the issue by Scully which had screws).
