Commander-in-Chief's Escort gilt and eggshell blue enamel badge with 2 loops to reverse. Circlet states ' Commander-in-Chief's Yeomanry Escort South African Field Force ' with Lord Roberts cypher to centre. The badge was presented by officer commanding Major W.M. Sherston DSO who was the nephew of Roberts and his ADC. Doubtful if ever worn. Yeoman's period in South Africa was only 8 months from their time of arrival to Roberts return home.
