Lushai Brigade
Woven cloth formation sign. Formed in March 1944 to protect India from the Japanese if they decided to invade. Formed with guerrillas and regulars from the 1st/9th Jats, 35th Indian Anti-Tank Companies, 7th/14th Punjabis, 1616 Porter Corps, 77 Field Ambulance and 1st Assam Rifles. Forced the Japanese out of Gangaw by 1945. Padded and with the head of a mythun, the wild cattle of the area. Ref Boulanger p307 D292
